International Red Panda Day at the Zoo

Today is International Red Panda Day (September 17, 2011). And we drove all the way to Sacramento from Corte Madera (just outside of San Francisco), and then we saw three Red Pandas! It was amazing to see them. One of them was very playful. The other was snoozy. The last one was tucked in a nook that we could hardly see.

The enclosure had lots of nooks to play and hide in, and sticks to climb on. It had one big pine tree. There were three places where you could see the Red Pandas really clearly. Two are glass, and one was surrounded by trees, but there’s a fence you can peer over.

Here’s the entrance to the Red Panda Exhibit:

This is me at the exhibit. The Red Pandas are back there, but small in this picture:

This is my best buddy, Red Panda:

And here’s me with a GIANT Red Panda:

I got a big Red Panda souvenir there – it’s a backpack that’s shaped and looks like a Red Panda! It was a good trip. Right when we got home, we watched Kung Fu Panda, with Shifu the Red Panda in it.

New York

I went to New York city and saw red pandas at the Central Park Zoo! Here’s a photo my grandpa took.
